A honey bee and a metallic green sweat bee arrived together on a flower. Below photo shows the
size of the two bees.
Both foraging on the yellow cosmos flowers for nectar and pollen.
The sweat bee is tiny compared to the honey bee, the life cycle of the sweat bee can be read in the post on the sweat bee pollinating flowers.
The two bees greet and don’t mind each other as they are busy obtaining nectar and pollen.
The honey bee has pollen on its head, it collects pollen on the hind legs in pollen baskets.
The sweat bee collects pollen mainly on the hairs on the lower part of its abdomen, note the yellow pollen.
The sweat bee is full of pollen underneath its body and legs.
The bee leaves the sweat bee in peace to carry on foraging on the cosmos flowers.
There is different colors of sweat bees, mostly metallic green, or blue and some darker bees.
